Will towards horizontality
  One of the concepts that interest me is "horizontality"- I have been approaching-expressing the concept from diverse angles.
  Water is taken that it bears will to remain horizontal. It is within water's nature to run to achieve horizontality. The upcoming work in Biel Swiss, is planned to install artworks on top of floating flatforms on the lake's surface. I think their intention was to form perfect harmony of the landscape of local village and artworks floating on the lake
  At first I approached in a way to visualize horizontality. How awesome it would be if a top could spin around on top of the lake's surface. While imagining such scenary inside my head, I realized that the ceaseless movement of water's surface could be visually described only when an object like a top lively spins on it. So to speak, I wanted to describe the surface of the water. When a breeze comes out of nowhere and interrupts the calm surface of the lake, to visually describe the liveliness of constantly moving water, I would put a top on top of it. To realize the impossible fantasy of vision, I would float a piece of a top on water. So that the top spinning in amazing speed along the waving water would seem as if it were wandering around the water and people could only catch occasional glimpses of it...                                                                                                   2005   myung -seop hong
